Hello, I’m Amy Avitabile. I believe that every organization benefits from creative, clear and consistent communication to their target audience.

Amy AvitabileI have been working as a graphic design consultant and web design consultant for nearly 10 years. I incorporated Epiphany Multimedia, Inc. in 2005, and have been working with a diverse array of clientele—small businesses and nonprofits—ever since.

What makes me unique is that I can design a visually striking look for your organization, and translate it across multiple mediums using print, web, photography, video, and more. What sets me apart from most folks in this business is my ability to produce appealing and smart print pieces and web sites. Smart means valuable, measureable, usable and accessible.

Founder of freelance graphic design and web development corporation with a focus on clear, creative communications design. Consultation, design, and web site programming for various clients. Development and production of coordinating, branded print materials such as stationery, brochures, business cards and promotional items. Creation and design of imagery through original photography and graphics programs. Video editing and output in multiple mediums, including DVD and Web. Marketing strategies, content structure and editing.

Art Director, Graphic Designer, Web Developer—The Power Company/Level 12 Design

Boston, MA 2005—present

Since 2005, I have been working with The Power Company/Level 12 Design under the direction of Scherazade Daruvalla King. The Power Company fuels the important work of socially conscious and responsible nonprofit organizations and businesses through the power of communication and media.

Clients include: Casa Esperanza, Next Generation Consulting Group, Progressive Communicators Network, Project:ThinkDifferent, Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation, The Praxis Project, and WeResource, LLC.

Communications Assistant—Harvard Medical School

Boston, MA 2001—2005

Publications—Designed and produced office brochures, Mentations (office newsletter) including organization of writers, copy editing, layout and design, and production. Designed and produced the office’s K-12 Newsletter, various publications, program books, posters, flyers, giveaways, certificates for events.

Web Sites—Maintained and designed the 4 office Web sites as well as other specialized, programmatic sites. Researched content for the sites including resource links, job postings, etc. Worked with the Dean and program coordinators to develop content. Maintained contacts with other institutions to gather information for the sites. Provided web site traffic analysis, including statistics on number of unique visitors to the sites to our Dean. Created and programmed automated Web forms, file upload ability, e-mail confirmations and site content via MySQL Server databases. Managed and updated the office master calendar. Maintained accessibility specifications on the sites.

Photography—Photographed office sponsored events with digital camera and maintained an electronic library. Prepared photos for use on Web sites. Scanned and edited photographs for publications, including brochures, displays, and event materials. Distributed photos upon request.

Miscellaneous—Offered technical support to office for some computer issues. Prepared presentation materials for the Dean. Provided PowerPoint training sessions for Fellows and K-12 students attending summer research programs.

Worked with consulting firm trainers to design program materials including workbooks, transparencies, handouts, and LCD presentations. Designed and produced brochures, posters, mouse pads, and other various products for Marketing Department.

Photographer—Olan Mills Portrait Studio

East Longmeadow, MA and Easton, PA 1997—1998

Photographed customers ranging from newborns to groups of 20. Trained new photographers and sales assistants.

Proctor/Intern/Photographer—Project Contemporary Competitiveness

Bridgewater, MA Summers 1994, ‘95, ‘96, ‘98

Led floor of 14-15 year old college track students during 6 week overnight program. Helped teach photography and journalism with emphasis on creativity and teamwork. Served as program Photographer: supervised the creation and publication of a yearbook, 4 newspapers, and documented every aspect of life at the program. Produced 2, 60 minute slide presentations for faculty and students.
